Lessons That I Thought Would Be Useful To Me, But Ultimately Weren’t

I read a lot of self-help articles on Medium, some pieces of advice have helped but there is a lot of fluff

I read a lot of things over the course of my time on Medium from way back when. However, very few of it has been deemed useful to me. I have a whole list of things that I want to read and the daily Medium Digest stacks in my email inbox. While I’m going through that list right now, I still try to find pieces that will ultimately lead me to do better.

Overall the message I get on how to succeed on Medium is to:

  1. Consistently post on Medium.
  2. Be an avid reader.
  3. Write when you’re even not inspired. (This is useful advice tbh).
  4. Have an eye-catching title and have substance in your article. (Obviously imo).
  5. Write for your audience, not for you.

This is essentially the gist of what I’ve gathered. Granted the Medium feed is compiled of articles I check and figures out that’s what I want to read more of. Which there is nothing wrong with that either.
